SENCo, Head of Pastoral Care and DDSL
Anne Lewis obtained her BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature from Leeds University, her Secondary English PGCE (with QTS) from Warwick University and her MSc in the Psychology of Education from the IoE, University of London.
After her undergraduate degree, Anne taught English as a Foreign Language in Spain. She then spent 2 years working as an Assistant English Teacher on the Japanese government’s JET Programme. Since completing her PGCE in 2009, Anne has worked in state and independent settings. Her experience includes 3 years as a Teacher and Coordinator at London’s leading day school for children with specific learning difficulties. Anne spent 4 years as Deputy SENCo, and then SENCo, at a new University Technical College, before joining David Game College in 2021. She is currently the SENCo, Deputy Safeguarding Lead and Head of Pastoral Care. Her responsibilities include the following: coordinating the provision for students with a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND); managing the exam access arrangements process; co-ordinating the PSHE curriculum; managing access to the College Counsellor. Anne has completed the National Award in SEN Coordination and she has a Level 7 Certificate in Psychometric Testing, Assessment and Access Arrangements. She has also received training on leading behaviour and culture, and teaching the .b mindfulness curriculum.
