GCSE Entries

We consider applications for AQA and Edexcel GCSE Mathematics at both the Foundation tier ( graded 1 - 5) and Higher tier ( graded 4 - 9). Applications for AQA & Edexcel GCSE English Language will also be accepted for November 2023 exam session.

IMPORTANT - GCSE English Language information

We only accept private candidates who have already received a PASS, MERIT or DISTINCTION for their spoken endorsement; you MUST show a certificate or Statement of Results from a previous examination session as evidence.

We will start considering applications for these examinations on Monday 8th July 2024, for any candidate aged 16 or over on 31 August 2024.

The standard exam entry fee will be £ 260 with a deadline of  4pm on Monday 9 September 2024. After this deadline, we will still consider late applications with an entry fee of  £ 380, subject to available space. 

Please note that all applications from prospective candidates requiring extra time in their examinations MUST be received no later than Monday 2nd September 2024, supported by valid documentation; please see the detailed notes in our Terms & Conditions (point 3 Access Arrangements).

Note: for English Language 4EA1, we will only accept candidates taking the written papers 1 and 2; applications from candidates requesting paper 3 (coursework) will not be considered.

JUNE 2025 EDEXCEL IGCSE EXAMINATIONS

Note: for English Language 4EA1, we will only accept candidates taking the written papers 1 and 2; applications from candidates requesting paper 3 (coursework) will not be considered. 

The standard entry fee will be £ 260 per subject (excluding IGCSE languages and Combined Sciences) with a deadline of  4pm on Monday 3rd February 2025. After this deadline, we will still consider late applications with an entry fee of £ 380 (per subject), subject to available space. 

The standard entry fee will be £ 340 per subject with a deadline of  4pm on Monday 3rd February 2025. After this deadline, we will still consider late applications with an entry fee of £ 445 (per subject), subject to available space.

Registering Online

Please read our TERMS AND CONDITIONS for potential Private Candidates BEFORE making an application. When you register, you will be asked to sign a declaration to the effect that you have understood the Terms and Conditions. Also please read our Privacy Notice on how we use your personal data and how long we retain it.

In order to process your application we ask that you request a Private Candidate Online Application Form. The DGC Exams Office will send you log in details to access the application form. Please ensure that you have completed the form accurately, particularly with regards to the exam board and the subject code. The college will not accept any responsibility for errors and omissions on your part.

Please note that you must also submit the following documentation along with this Private Candidate Application form:

·         Passport sized photograph

·         Valid photographic ID (passport / driving license etc.) 

·         Most recent Statement of Results (incl. Unique Candidate Identifier number - UCI no.)

Please note – AQA  and OCR A level & GCSE certificates have the UCI number printed on the official certificate as well as the Statement of Results which can be uploaded when completing the DGC application form,  Pearson Edexcel does not – only on their Statement of Results. Please do not upload Pearson Edexcel official certificates as evidence of your UCI number.

Note: if you have never taken a GCSE / IGCSE / AS / A level examination before (and hence do not have a Statement of Results from a previous examination session), please do not worry - just mention this to our examinations team when you call or come in to register and they will allocate you a UCI number.  The same applies to mature students who last took a public examination ten or more years ago.  It is vital that you tell us if you already have a UCI number allocated by another school or college, and provide documentary evidence verifying that UCI number.

So please ensure you have the necessary documentation available when applying online. Once you have submitted your application form, please allow time for the attachments to upload. You will then receive your private candidate examination invoice, which would need to be paid by the date on the invoice.

Registering In Person

If you would like to register in person, you will need to book an appointment with our Examinations department . To book an appointment please email exams@davidgamecollege.com or call 020 7221 6665 ext 116.

You will need to complete the DGC Private Candidate Application form. A member of our examinations team will then check the details on the form (correct codes, documentation etc.) and will register the entry if everything is in order.  For students aged up to and including 18 only, it is permissible for the student's parent or guardian to come in without the student as long as all the required documentation - including correct entry codes - is brought in.

Please bring with you your most recent official Statement(s) of Results.  If you have more than one (e.g. one from AQA, one from Edexcel) it is important that you show us all of them, even if they relate to subjects you will not be taking in your future examinations.  This is to enable us to check your Unique Candidate Identifier (UCI) and to resolve any associated problems (for example, if your previous school or college has made the mistake of allocating you a new UCI when you already had one from elsewhere).

When you come in to register for examinations, please bring with you:

1. two passport-sized photographs signed and dated on the back
2. the original document and a photocopy of one of the following forms of identity:
   i. valid passport page showing personal data and photograph
   ii. Valid driving licence showing photograph
   iii. any other valid photographic proof of identity
3.      Most recent Statement of Results (incl. Unique Candidate Identifier number - UCI no.)

Once we have verified all your documentation, you will then be given your private candidate examination invoice, which would need to be paid by the date on the invoice.

For students who have already taken examinations as a private candidate in a previous session at David Game College, please register online quoting your 4-digit candidate number.  An invoice will be sent to you by email. This invoice must be settled no later than the following working day (dated on the invoice).
