Head of GCSE/ Head of Safeguarding & Senior DSL
Nedaa has a degree in English Language and Literature from Damascus University and an MBA from Hull University, specialising in Human Resource Management. Nedaa has corporate experience as a senior manager in BMW within the Middle East. Her two main roles at the College are Safeguarding and Head of the GCSE Department. As Head of Safeguarding and the Senior DSL, Nedaa leads a team and has significant contact with local authority professionals. As Head of GCSE, she is in charge of students of compulsory school age (CSA) and provides students with a structured programme that includes pastoral care as well as advice and support on financial and health matters. Nedaa works closely with GCSE teachers and monitors students’ attendance, and the academic and personal progress of all students. In addition to her PSHE role, Nedaa arranges a programme of visits by outside speakers who make a positive contribution to the curriculum for GCSE students, in particular the support curriculum, including speakers for PSHE and RSE activities. Within the College, Nedaa is an active member of the College Pastoral Care team, Academic Board Committee, as well as the Safeguarding and Vulnerable Student Committee and Risk and Issue Committee.
